Analog vs. Digital match is up at steelcage_match.

Back in the Dark Ages when I was a dj I used a combination of vinyl and CD -- it was pre-laptop mixing. We did use an iPod for our wedding -- but mostly because we could leave it unattended. I really do, in my heart of hearts, prefer vinyl. Of course in my dusty little heart I also prefer steamer trunks, ocean liners, and walking places. Though I am typing this on my little white laptop and you'd have to pry it out of my cold dead hands to get it away from me. My compromise is analog recordings in digital format. And when the invent a car that runs on some kind of reasonable fuel source I will get one.

Now I have to go finally rewrite my resume. And apply for jobs. I'm not terrified. Nope.

wwwords_updates is the feed for worldwidewords.com - yay. Word geekery. It had the origin of a phrase my mother used all the time when I was a kid. If I asked how we were getting somewhere and the answer was walking - she would say, "Shank's mare." Turns out it is Scottish like my mom and grandmother.

ETA: I've heard rumblings about lj purging journals that contain icons or references to "wincest." Or something. Well, it sounds like they actually did. bookshop has a nice long post about it all.

ETA #3:OK, yes. lj did delete many communities and some personal ljs all because of some crazy people who think they are hunting online predators. liz_marcs communicated with the Uptight for Jesus brigade. Although I think that woman is actually a member of Clueless for the Heck of it Society. liz_marcs however is made of awesomeness.
