Even though we have the internet at home now things have been so busy I haven't had the time or brain to post or read at all. Still no job, but I have started getting offers to do things like usher for three hours through the temp agency. I guess that means that my references passed?
We are half moved in. No photos on walls yet. No books unpacked. The kitchen is 75% unpacked, but is a work in progress. There is a leak in our bedroom ceiling and I have to call the management people today.
I had a blood test to check for rheumatoid arthritis last week (I've been having a lot of trouble with my hands) and I bled like a stuck pig. When I went to check out and get a referral blood was dripping onto the counter. It was hilariously gross.
I started reading "Corydon" by Tobias Druitt. I'm finding there are two tacks authors are taking with Ancient Greek myth and subject matter. Once is heinously overwritten, stilted, no dramatic tension -- the other is super casual and folksy. WTF?
I am undecided about the mother/son writing team thing. And also unsure of 12 a year old who claims to be a foodie and likes colors that are macabre. Precocity can be so off-putting at times.
I suppose I should tell you about the turkey disaster of my first solo cooking of Thanksgiving dinner? ( ... )
