Today's writing session was sort of painful. I didn't know I would be sending my heroine to the hospital and I hadn't thought very much about it. I'm a little worried I am putting her through the wringer too early in the novel. And compared to what is coming what she is going through now is nothing. But its not like Jane Eyre gets happy until the very end so I think I'm probably safe. (I'm not saying I'm on par with any of the Brontes, dude.)

I'm reading Gaiman's "Anansi Boys" because I never did. It just made me laugh out loud for like four minutes.

I roasted root vegetables for David because he wanted to eat vegetables during his "retreat" today. I cut up sweet potatoes, potato, red onion, carrot, and beets. My fingernails are all rosy from peeling and slicing beets. I hate beets. I keep trying to like them because they are really good for you. I dislike the texture and the taste. I dislike the dirt taste and the sweetness. I'm not fond of sweet potatoes for the same reason.

ETA: I knew I had something rattling around in my memory to add to this post. While I was walking back from the coffee shop I passed three girls (looked about college age) who were carrying very tall signs for Obama. The signs said "honk for change" and various drivers going down Mass Ave honked. The girls cheered. I was assuming they were on their way back from a rally or something. It was really adorable. I love my lefty liberal city so hard sometimes.
