imaginarycircus at 02:34pm on 03/09/2008These photos of McCain greeting the Palin family today made me cringe. I know it says McCain was hugging 17 year old pregnant Bristol. But doesn't look like he is making a grab for her belly? NY Times!? WTF? Surely you could have chosen another photo.
So is mainstream media sending the message that teen pregnancy is acceptable? Bristol, What's her name Spears, (Yes, I know her name. Thanks.), and freakin Bella Cullen and her creepy vampire spawn--and isn't there some ABC Family drama about a pregnant 16 year old. Then of course there was Juno--which at least showed that there is social stigma and it is painful emotionally and physically. I don't know.
That's it. I'm going to make sure the subjects of birth control, and oral sex come up in my freakin work at some point.
