Our neighbors were having an obnoxiously loud party. We could hear their music in the hallway outside our apartment and their apartment isn't even connected to that hallway. If they were being noisy but not disruptively so--well, it's a Saturday at the end of the semester. Cool. Have a party. But I don't need to feel the bass from your crappy music in my sternum at 2am. Thanks.

We never complain when this dude has lots of people over and they scream at football games. Because it is always like 4pm. His living room shares a wall with our bedroom and our kitchen. I can even hear when his chat program dings.

I called the police (non-Emergency number of course) but I feel old and crabby. However the music has stopped. Ugh.

There is reasonable noise and unreasonable noise, right?

That is the brie I made last night to take to a party. I was quite pleased with the design of leaves and vines that I cut out free form. I bought the puff pastry and felt like a cheater. I just didn't have the time or energy to make my own. But I can. One of the few things I did learn while working in a bakery that was going bankrupt...

I made palmiers with the leftover pastry.

and here is our suddenly legless Wooster cat.

David is feeling under the weather and I made him some garlic soup adapted from Julia Child's recipe. I think it's a solid fixer upper for when you're feeling on the edge of the flu or run down.
