Post Secret's mother's day cards made me choke up. David went to North Carolina to visit his mom. I went out with friends this evening so I wouldn't get completely depressed. But I envy people who have parents. I envy David. He has his parents and his step parents. They came to our wedding and all his graduations and his dad and step mom even came to my grad school graduation. And I love having them in my life. I love them dearly.

But no one replaces my extremely crazy, extremely wonderful mother. She could upset me more than any other person on the planet. I pointed that out to her once and she laughed and said, "Of course. I installed your buttons. Don't you think I know how to push them better than anyone else?" I was furious at the time. And she could be a serious pain in the ass. But no one will ever love me like she did.
