When I was two I took an entire pack of my mother's birth control pills. She called her OB-GYN and asked if she should give me ipecac or take me to the hospital to have my stomach pumped. He said I'd be fine--I might have a stomach ache, but otherwise I could "go out and have a good time." My mother was not amused. I also swallowed a dollar and change in coins. I think I stopped swallowing weird things shortly after that because that must have been awful to um... yeah.

I suppose the weirdest thing to me that I was told I used to eat was liverwurst. I was vegetarian from 1976-1998 so that just seems bizarre. But apparently I used to climb in to the fridge when I was tiny and eat all the liverwurst and my mother would find all the cellophane from around the edges strewn all over the fridge and the package would be empty. And whenever she told that story she also had to tell me about the time I took all the labels off all the canned goods in the cupboard and the only thing she could tell for sure was tuna because of the can. For ages she had no idea what she might be opening. She was big on stockpiling things on sale... (she also used to like to tell me about how much I liked tuna fish with celery and olives. She'd give it to me on a cracker and I would eat all the tuna and then give her back the cracker like it was plate. The only way I'll eat tuna these days is if it is sashimi or grilled fresh tuna.) This is probably way more than anyone ever wanted to know about my personal history with food.

The year my father died (1975) I refused to eat anything but pasta with butter, chicken in a white wine sauce, or some other bland thing--maybe pizza. That's when I started to hate food until I went to college. I'm sure all the food allergies I developed around that time did not make my experiences with food any easier.

I really don't eat anything I consider weird these days. I made the avocado and shrimp salad to take to David's parent's vow renewal thing today and my brother-in-law who is a professional chef said he is going to start making it and charging people money for it! :D (The cake they had at the party looked pretty, but was horrible. Brother-in-law did NOT make it. Dry cake. Vegetable shortening in frosting or something. Ew.)

I have cramps and pint of New York Super Fudge and a Doris Day movie. David went to see Star Trek with his brother. Blah.

I sent out all of my invite codes, but one person hasn't used hers. If I sent you an invite and you've changed your mind please let me know? I sent the invite on May 1. If you just haven't gotten around to registering that is totally cool. I'm just worried I screwed something up?! :D
