Time for a wacky metaphor to describe the rewrite process. I feel like I'm rebuilding a house for the fifth time. I have to keep tearing it down and rebuilding it so the roof and the walls are the same size and shape, and the walls are high enough to meet the roof. Plus I think I started out building a neo-gothic cathedral and ended up building a small thatched cottage.
