I've been avoiding it and grilling shrimp and swimming in the Atlantic and reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone aloud to David. It's his birthday today and we're laying about like overcooked noodles. I made him eggs benedict with tomatoes in place of Canadian bacon and now he is asleep.
I should be doing work, but I can't bring myself to do any. Maybe I should just let myself be on vacation. Our friends are coming out tomorrow for the weekend--so I probably won't get much done then either. Though I've been doing some research and thinking about pacing and clarity and motivation.
Now I have to go bake a cake. David wants the same cake I made last year. The icing is 1.5 pounds of chocolate and three sticks of butter. We had at least ten people around to eat that cake. We'll only have four to eat this one. I am worried about none of my clothes fitting soon. Wunderbar.
