NPR is running the third round of their three minute story contest. They post a photo and you submit a 600 word (or fewer) story. They received 3,000 entries in this round.
I thought I'd post what I ended up submitting, but I have a feeling if they liked the story they already posted (which I thought was pretty good) because it lacked cynicism and irony--they'll probably dislike my entry, which is fine. I went into this with zero expectations and looked at it as a fun exercise.
