My kitchen is almost clean after last night's festivities. I have two frying pans left to wash and I need to sweep the floor.
Yesterday I had a very nice grocery list and I trotted off to the fish market and they had no salmon. They'd sold out. And they didn't have enough of anything to feed 6 people. So I bought all the tuna they had and a pound of shrimp and figured I would just wing it. Sear the tuna and scampi the shrimp and there you go. For some reason I decided to still do the dill creme fraiche, except Formaggio Kitchen? Out of creme fraiche. So I bought mascapone, which is not a good substitute for creme fraiche. *facepalm*
Dinner was eaten. No one died. We drank a good deal of wine, but not as much as I thought we would. Then I made everyone eat cupcakes. The buttercream was lovely, though I think our oven baked the cupcakes a bit unevenly and some of them were a bit drier than others. They weren't bad though.
I have not been doing enough work. *shuts ears in oven door*
