I'm about to run to the store and get all the food and wine for tomorrow. Then I have to make a cake big enough to feed ~25 people. I also have to buy a new cake pan because I don't know what happened to my 9 x 13 metal pan and there is no way that I'm going to bake this kind of cake in a pyrex pan.

Am I wrong? I'm going to make 2 9x13 layers because one two layer 9 inch cake is supposed to be 12 servings. So doubling the recipe I can make 2 9x13 layers and that should feed 24. The layers will be slightly thinner in a 9x13 pan because the difference in area is a couple of square inches, but this should work? Right? Every baking project has come out kind of meh for the last few weeks. I blame Mercury retrograde.

I ran out of yarn when knitting the last two inches of the second Totoro mitten. :/

I think I feel extra frantic because we're taking the cake to the hospice. I've never been to a hospice before. My mom died at home and my dad died in the hospital. I don't know. All I can think to do is to bring everyone a lot of cake.

Crap. I almost forgot to put white chocolate (for the butter cream) on my list.

Then I have to clean the apartment too... *explodes*

In the fine tradition of every Christmas I will be wrapping some presents at 2am. Thankfully I already did most of my wrapping.
