I can't load my flist. :/

We got back from the wedding late last night. It was very sweet and everyone laughed in the right places when I read my poem. Several people made a point to come and tell me they liked the poem, which was nice. One man even said, "I loved your epithalamion." Best compliment ever, though I'm hardly Sappho.

I woke up so sore and stiff this morning I realized I've been overdoing it physically and now I'm going to pay for it. I managed to get out of the house after a mega dose of motrin, a muscle relaxant, and a hot shower. I've gone from OWWWWW to Ugh this is annoying.

The amount of hair the cat can spread evenly over our new sofa in two days is astounding. We'll obviously be vacuuming the sofa often, I see. And the covers can be tossed in the wash, which is handy. The new sofa arrived broken on Friday, but David spent about half an hour pulling out ginormous staples and managed to fix it! He is so cool. Our apartment is still a disaster and I can't seem to get started on the kitchen again.

We kept our couch covered with a sheet when we had cats, and only took it off if people came over. It still looks nice 17 years later, except for one little spot where they scratched it, which is why it's our downstairs sofa now rather than out on the curb...

I think if this couch lasts five years we'll be happy.
