Holy crap. Something in the subways (transformer?) Steam pipe exploded and broke a huge crater into 41st street near Lex. WOW. Shit (mud, steam, smoke) is pouring out of the ground. Glad I'm not in Manhattan today.

It is very cool that the news outlets keep saying this is not terrorist activity. This is the first time I have seen them not fanning the flames of fear.

It's really scary how much of the city's infrastructure is that old. 84 year old steam pipes! Ack!

Yeah, I know. It is an old city, with old pipes. Glad I stayed in the Bronx today.
