Did I miss something?

I've read several fics in the last day that seem to send the trio and other students back to Hogwarts post-DH. Why is that? After what they faced haven't they proven themselves? Couldn't they just take their exams and be done with it?

I just can't see Harry returning after the showdown... Or was there something in the book I missed? I'm pretty out of it these days. :(

YES! That is what I was thinking. I mean if they gave Harry another one of those Awards for Special Services to the school again and said, see you in September I would be O_O Plus am assuming McG is in charge now?
