We'll be spending the day with our nieces to celebrate the little one's 4th birthday and I said I'd make cupcakes and bring stuff to decorate them. I'm going to bake vanilla cupcakes and make chocolate buttercream. But what should I bring to put ON the cupcakes besides frosting?

We might actually get some snow tomorrow. \o/ Not as much as everyone else, but I don't live in this freezing cold windy city (windier than Chicago by far--though iirc that "wind" was about political gasbags, right?) so we can get NO SNOW at all. The plows are out sanding here before the snow starts. We can totally handle large snowfalls. Where is our snow?!

I reconstructed an old chapter today so I still don't feel like I can post a word meter because it's not like when I was just spitting out new text all the damn time. I'm hovering in the 30k range of a 70k word novel. Still. But it's like making a new jigsaw puzzle out of an old jig saw puzzle and its a little wacky and my brain has been set on SLOW for months now.

I'm toying with the idea of writing an essay about writing real life into fiction and how it can fail--which I found out after 28 drafts of a short story. Also I suck at writing short fiction. But what would I do with such an essay? Post it here? Does anyone read that kind of thing? I suppose I could do it for my own edification.

I just e-filed our taxes. \o/

I'm making chicken stock and having cramps. I accidentally bought caramel Tim Tams on the way home to satisfy my chocolate craving. THEY ARE DEADLY.

Wooster cat is sleeping with his face smashed into the world's most fugly sweater aka as David's old man about the house sweater. David is off galavanting with buddhists. Actually more like sitting quietly and contemplating something deep and meaningful in a room full of people doing the same.
