I don't think you're giving yourself enough credit, you do know what you are doing. And when you're done with this draft your agent can give you some feedback and you'll learn a little more and it will all come out well.

I hope so. I just feel a little frustrated when what I'm thinking I'm sitting down to write is not what I end up writing and then I can't tell if I'm waffling and writing stuff that is filler or if it is a needed scene...
