I've been so down in the marrow of my bones tired that I haven't updated because watching paint dry, etc.
We watched the 1975 version of Escape to Witch Mountain last night. It is seriously awful. I remember being afraid of it when I was like six--it was gripping and dark. There was no bit of dialog that was NOT expository. The entire thing is ridiculous and we felt like we were high when it ended. I didn't realize that Disney is remaking this movie and it comes out in 2009.
Also we stopped in the Harvard Bookstore to see if they had a book David wanted and I noticed a whole stack of my friend Salvatore's book now have "National Book Award Finalist" on them! That is HUGE! We went to St. John's together as undergrads. He did his MFA at Iowa.

I saw the trailer for the remake this weekend. Usually I'm of the mind that stuff doesn't need to be remade, but I think it'll work in this case.
The original film is one that definitely suffered from its sub-par effects, and the urgency of the plot works better as an actual action flick rather than "creepy guy picks up two Children of the Corn and drives them to a mountain in a Winnebago. Also, aliens."
