Credit checks passed and application for apartment approved. We're dropping off a check this evening. Let the book purge begin. Though my friend Cari pointed out to be that placing books two deep on my shelves is always an option.

We should measure the rooms and see if we can plan what will fit where to a certain extent so we know whether to get rid of my desk or not. We need a loveseat and a new chest of drawers. I hope to God our dining room table fits in the kitchen.

I want to throw everything away so there's nothing to move. Doesn't that sound great?

Yes, but I like some of our things. I want to keep my fish poacher!

I am so plebian, I just put the fish in a pan with some liquid. I don't have very many nice things...

Yay!!! Congrats. :)

We store paperpacks stacked in horizontal piles so that they fill all the way up to the top of the shelf and two deep. We have a lot of books.

We do that too...we have tall books standing up and short ones sideways in stacks. But some of ours are still in boxes in the basement. I think we might have a few too many.

Hurrah! And I second the double- stacking thing, but then I have not yet accepted that there are books I own that I don't absolutely need to own, if that makes sense.

That is completely my problem too and I have to thin the herd.
